A Champagne Reception was held at the Pleasanton Senior Center, the evening of September 17th 2015. The reception was hosted by the "Friends of Pleasanton Senior Center" to celebrate the dedication of the "Friends Tree", a beautifully sculptured and personalized recognition for those who make significant contributions to the Senior Center in support of the Pleasanton senior community. Special guests of honor included Karen McKay, widow of our founder and first president, Keith McKay. Their daughters, Lucy and Mollie gave heartfelt speeches about their father and leadership. Pam Deaton, director of the Senior Center, introduced community leaders in the audience and then introduced Vice-Mayor, Karla Brown who spoke. President of the Friends of Pleasanton Senior Center, Dick Small, introduced the launch of this beautiful Donor Tree and discussed the hope of partnership with the Senior Center Staff and the City of Pleasanton to enhance the Senior Center’s mission of service to seniors in our community and improve their quality of life.
