The Pleasanton Senior has some new “Friends”. The newly founded charitable foundation, Friends of Pleasanton Senior Center, created the Friends Tree.
This tree will be an opportunity to show respect for those who have used the Center in the past, for those currently participating in activities, and for those who want to show their support for the Pleasanton Senior Community.
Kristin Jarvis, Secretary of the board of directors, came up with the idea of the Friends Tree as a piece of artwork for the lobby and as a way for friends to publicly display their support of the Senior Center. Together with Janet Burton and Nancy Taylor a committee was formed. A huge collaborative effort from the Senior Center Woodshop, The City of Pleasanton, the City Sign Shop and many others accomplished the construction and installation of the Friends Tree.
The Pleasanton Senior Community will be enriched as a result of the funds raised by the Friends of Pleasanton Senior Center.
You are invited to become a supporter of the Pleasanton Senior Center by taking part in the Friends Tree. The Tree is prominently displayed at the Senior Center, and acknowledges those who have generously offered their support. The Friends Tree with its leaves and rocks, serves as a permanent reminder to all visitors of those individuals, businesses and families who have supported this important community facility.
By adding a leaf or rock, you can:
Memorialize a loved one
Recognize a loved one who is currently participating at the Senior Center
Join your friends who also participate at the Senior Center
Show your support for the active Senior Community of Pleasanton
