This page is intended for Board Members only. It serves as documentation for the various projects we are doing, and should provide some history of our organization. Current projects are listed below:
Amazon Smile
How does my charity receive the donations?
Each quarter, the Amazon Smile Foundation makes donations to eligible charitable organizations by electronic funds transfer. Donations will be transferred approximately 45 days after the end of each calendar quarter. To account for product returns, a portion of the quarterly donations will be withheld until the next donation cycle, subject to any reduction due to returns from prior quarters. See the AmazonSmile Participation Agreement for more details.
How much of the customers’ purchase price does Amazon donate?
The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from customers’ eligible AmazonSmile purchases to the charitable organizations they select. The purchase price for each item is the sale price, excluding shipping, handling, and gift-wrapping fees, taxes, and service charges, and less any rebates, returns, and bad debt. Certain items are not eligible for and will not result in donations.
What purchases are eligible for donations?
Tens of millions of products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages. Recurring Subscribe-and-Save purchases and subscription renewals are not currently eligible. For more information, see Qualifying Purchases in the AmazonSmile Participation Agreement.
Can I view the amount of donations my charitable organization has received?
We currently do not provide reports that enable viewing of donations received.
To access our Amazon Smile account log on to www.org.amazon.com with our user name and password.
eScrip Program
eScrip helps non-profit organizations earn thousands of dollars for programs and activities, by offering an organization the opportunity to earn money with a minimal amount of effort. eScrip offers several ways to raise funds: see "Three Ways" To learn more about those programs. eScrip also has an electronic waste program which is described below.
We have a recycle bin at the Senior Center where people can dispose of used ink and toner cartridges, cell phones, GPS, monitors, TVs and the like. eScrip provides pre-paid shipping labels, so there is no cost to us to work this program. We can print shipping labels directly from the escrip website, or order them to be mailed to us. We've done both. The labels are stored at the center in the file cabinet behind reception in a correspondence file folder. We have to supply the shipping boxes, the rule is either 20 items or no more than 20 pounds.
Online Tools:
The Coordinator Toolkit is where you will find everything you need to promote eScrip's national programs and your local eScrip merchants.
My Assistant is designed to make administration and promotion of your eScrip program simple. Access my assistant to communicate with your supporter base, including promoting registered cards and collecting contact information. Also available are pre-designed emails and flyers for distribution to your supporters.
Monthly Reports are available to help track your group's contributions and supporter lists. Check the Report and Payment Schedule for report posting and payment dates.

Tracfone
The board decided not to renew the Tracfone in 2015. We still have a Tracfone online account and can purchase a new smart phone sometime in the future if there is a greater need.
Pay Pal Account
You can access our Pay Pal account by going directly to www.paypal.com enter our user name and password.
As Treasurer Janet has linked our checking account to Pay Pal and can move funds from or into the account online.
We have a Pay Pal logo on our website that directly links those who wish to donate via Pay Pal directly to our Pay Pal account, so donated funds are automatically deposited into our Pay Pal account and are routinely moved into our checking account by the Treasurer.
PayPal also provided two credit card readers that can be attached to a smart phone to process donations received by credit card. The Treasurer has information on how to download that application to your smart phone. Our current Trac Fone is not a smart phone.
Lowest Domain Rates
We purchased seniorcenterfriends.org using lowestdomainrates.com, cost is roughly $15 annually. Our original purchase was for five years, it will have to be renewed prior to January 13, 2019. I think we should stay with a five year cycle. Renewal notices currently go to Dick, in the event he isn't available any board member can renew by logging in, click on our domain name, click on renew. It is not set up for automatic renewal, Dick currently gets renewal notices.
It’s renewed online at www.lowestdomainrates.com log in with our user name and password. Use our bank card to renew
We can have up to ten email addresses forwarded to our personal email accounts. For example treasurer@seniorcenterfriends.org goes to Janet’s personal email box. In the event Janet is no longer the Treasurer, the landing address would have to be changed.
info@seniorcenterfriends.org and webguy@seniorcenterfriends.org go to Dick Small’s Comcast mailbox.
